SideNote Pro is a native Windows AI assistant developed by BediniLabs that keeps a conversation panel beside the application you are using. Press Ctrl+Shift+Space to open it, ask a question, and press Esc to retract it. The panel can float, stay above other windows, or dock at the screen edge.
It helps summarize, explain, rewrite and translate selected text. Optional inline commands let you revise text directly in other Windows applications. You can attach PDF, DOCX, TXT and Markdown documents, capture part of the screen for an image-capable model, or ask questions about a folder indexed on your computer. Folder requests include relevant excerpts and a list of sources.
The application connects to your own OpenAI-compatible provider or a local model through tools such as Ollama or LM Studio. Conversation history stays on your computer, with search, pinned threads and Markdown export. Takeaways preserve useful decisions and next steps; individual responses can be exported as PDF.
